(1.) Go to bed at the same time every night. (2.) Avoiding the use of acohol and some medicines, especially sleeping pills and sedatives before going to bed. (UNLESS Directed by your Doctor to do so). (3.) Quit Smoking. The nicotine in tobacco relaxes the muscles that keep the airways open. Not smoking means the muscles are less likely to collapse at night and narrow the airway. (4.) Elevate the head of the bed 4” to 6” by putting some wood or bricks under the legs. (5.) & (6.) Use positioning and weight loss as stated above. |
